We hope each of you have a wonderful Christmas as you enjoy celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. We will be heading to Virginia in the morning to enjoy some time with family there. As always, we would appreciate your prayers as we travel and spend some time out of town.
We would also appreciate your prayers for Olivia. She has been very sick today. Thankfully she seems to be able to keep down her food now and hopefully is on the way to a quick recovery. Sure would be nice if she could have a healthy first Christmas!
A View from Peru
News from Peru
Remember to pray for Peru today! This week, eight Peruvian police officials were killed by a group of "Shining Path" terrorists about 225 miles northeast of Lima. A state of emergency was declared in six zones to prevent further unrest. In the late 1980's and early 1990's this same terrorist group killed thousands in Peru. Much of their activities were funded by illegal coca leaf production. The leaf is used in the production of cocaine. Today, they want to bring back massive coca leaf production.
Also this week in neighboring Bolivia a Socialist politician was elected as the nation's newest president. He also hopes to restore the country's production of coca leaf. This continues a slide of unrest and instability in South America. Please pray that peace will reign in Peru and that the work of God will be able to continue unhindered. Often, the political and social climate of Bolivia effects Peru.
Now, in family news: Look at what the girls have been busy doing lately...

Thanks for Praying!
We had a wonderful trip to Kentucky. The weather was less than perfect for the drive back, but the snow was mostly cleared from the roads and we had no problems. Elizabeth isn't sure she wants to travel to Kentucky again. She told us "Tucky is just to far away for fun!" She then remembered how much fun she had and agreed to someday return.
Be sure to take a look at these new pictures of the girls!

Now for a LONG trip!
It seems we spend more time in our car than in our home. We have recently visited churches in both North Carolina and Virginia. We have driven from the mountains to the coast. Along the way we have met great people and enjoyed renewing old friendships. We have constantly been encouraged by the folks that have supported us along the way.
Tomorrow, we head out of town once again for a very long trip. We will be traveling to Owensboro, Kentucky to visit Debbie's grandmother. It should be a nice time. We haven't seen this part of the family in five years. It will be especially fun to show off the girls! It will probably be our last major trip of 2005. Then a short break for the Christmas season and off to visit more churches in the new year! Thanks for your continued prayers along the way!

First Snow!
Here are a few pictures of Elizabeth's first snow. We ran into snow while driving to Virginia for Thanksgiving. After living in Peru the first four years of her life, Elizabeth has never had the fascinating experience of playing in snow. She has always wondered what playing in the snow was all about. She was a little fearful at first to touch it, thinking it would be to unbelievably cold. We stopped at a gas station along the way so she could get out, run around and try to catch a few flakes on her tongue. Imagine her surprise and great disappointment to wake up the next morning and find that a passing warm front had melted every last flake! She is now looking forward to another "real" snow storm so she go out and play. She really wants to make a "snow angel" and "slide down a hill." Once again, we are enjoying the chance to re-live our childhood through our little girls!
